2014 Spring Open House and More


The West Suburban Home School Band will be holding an Open House during regular rehearsal times on Thursday, April 3, 2014.

All interested home schoolers are invited to come and watch any rehearsal in Cornelius Hall at Resurrection Church at the NW corner of Army Trail and 59 in Wayne.

Rehearsal times for the four different band levels are:

5:15-6pm Cadets (beginners),

6-7pm Concert Junior,

7-8pm Concert Senior,

8-9pm Symphonic.

Feel free to come any time and stay as long as you like. Free gifts for all who visit!

The WSHSB’s 13th Annual Spring Concert at 7 pm, Friday, May 16, 2014, at Edman Memorial Chapel, on the campus of Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL. This concert is NOT a function of Wheaton College.Map and directions are on www.wshsb.org.

Thursday, June 5, the WSHSB will play from 12 to 12:30, just prior to the keynote speaker at the ICHE Convention.

Our Community Coop is having an open house on Friday, 4/26.

The Community Co-op is a family-oriented resource for homeschool families
located in Oak Park, Illinois, serving Chicago and its surrounding suburbs. We
are a non-profit organization officially founded as the “Community Organization
for Near West Homeschoolers”, but affectionately known as the “The Community

This is a party for children who bring an adult with them to learn about the world of physics. (There’s plenty for the grown-ups, too.)

The Open House is most appropriate for children in grades 3 and up. The event is free.

Learning Vine Open House

If you are interested in The Learning Vine Academic Program for homeschoolers, you are invited to attend their Information Meeting this Friday, February 10,  at 1:30 PM in room 2A/B (lower level) of Community Christian Church on Emerson Lane in Naperville.

They will be presenting an overview of what their academic program offers and have time for Q and A. This meeting is meant mainly for families who have not enrolled previously in the program.
