Children’s Clothing and Toy Resale Season
You may already know, but as garage sale season winds down, a whole new type of sale begins to dot the landscape. The clothing resale.
I first learned about these sales over twelve years ago and have haunted them ever since.
Basically, children’s clothing and toy resales provide families a place to sell their outgrown items and buy other people’s outgrown items all in one place.

Scholastic Warehouse sale

I have personally enjoyed shopping this sale to stock up on free reading books, craft sets, and even stocking stuffers. Much of the warehouse is available at 50% off or more, they often have items for $1, and you can print out a coupon for $10 off a $50 purchase when you register in advance. I don’t usually have a hard time finding $50 worth of items to fill my cart with.

North Aurora Library Used book sale
This isn’t specific to homeschoolers, but most of us have more books that we need, but still not as many as we think we need.
If you feel this way, you might find some interesting books at the Messenger Public Library in North Aurora.
This is just about to wrap up for today, but will be open again tomorrow, August 1 from 9-3.

Penny pencils and more!
Tis the season for back to school deals.
Grateful that I don’t have a school mandated supply list to follow, still I gleefully take advantage of the incredible deals on school supplies this time of year. I joked to my kids that we have enough paper and pencils for me to homeschool their children.
Some of the deals you don’t want to miss:
Staples :
- Penny pencils (8 pack, yellow — limit two) only through Wednesday this week
- Copy paper costs $3.69 and can be submitted for $3.68 rebate online (500 sheets per pack, limit two) also through Wednesday only
