Summer Enrichment classes in Des Plaines

April 23rd, 2012

Received this from Amanda Davey, the Dean of Students at Science & Arts Academy:

Summer Program for Homeschoolers

We are a private, independent day school for gifted learners Preschool – 8th grade located in Des Plaines, IL just two blocks off of I294.

Over the 20 years we have been in existence, we have had many homeschooling families attend our gifted Summer Program.  The class sizes are small, the teachers are trained to work with advanced learners and passionate about the unique classroom subject matter, and the kids all have a love for learning.

This affordable, interesting option for in-depth learning has always resonated with parents of our homeschool constituents.

The best way to take a look at our summer program is to visit our website.

Steve Demme coming to the area

February 2nd, 2012

Next week! This ICHE sponsored event is coming soon, and if you can’t attend in person you can register to attend online. Steve Demme is an incredible speaker and well worth taking the time out of your weekend to give a listen.

Please join ICHE and CHOSEN, the Freeport area support group, in welcoming
Steve Demme to the greater Rockford area!

Steve will be sharing his unique and encouraging insights on family life.  Steve and his wife have raised four sons by God’s grace.  He has worked as a math teacher and a pastor, but many know him as the author and founder of Math-U-See.

The desire of Steve’s heart is to see a balanced bilblical view of the family restored.  We are very excited to hear from a man who has seen first hand how our homes and families can be impacted by the love and grace of our Savior.

Check out their website for all of the details about this family discipleship seminar.

This event is an exciting first for ICHE.
If you cannot attend in person, we are offering a live webstream of the event!

To view the live webstream, register online and check the box that says live stream at the end of the registration form.  You will receive an email shortly before the event with instructions on accessing the website and video stream.

Christmas Swap Shop!

November 29th, 2011

I’ve been out to this quarterly swap shop twice now and been amazed both times at the great stuff I found for my family, and thankful for a place to pass along my no longer needed stuff to someone else who can enjoy it. A free exchange of goods — brilliant!
When: December 9th* and 10th **

*Donation Drop off is Friday, Dec 9thfrom 10am-7pm
**Swapping is Saturday, Dec 10thfrom 9am –1pm

What is a Christmas Swap Shop? It is an event where moms swap out things they no longer need with things they do. While the main focus of the Christmas swap is TOYSfor all ages, you can also swap gently used clothing, shoes, and books. If you wouldn’t be ashamed to give to someone you know, we’ll accept it. Items are for swap, not for sale.

Who:The event is hosted by Authentic Moms, a local Christian mom’s group, whose desire is to follow 1 John 3:16-18 and love with actions and truth, not just words and speech. The event is FREE and open to ALL!

Where:The Elburn Community Center Gym, 525 N. Main Street, Elburn, IL
