American Foundry Society is hosting a manufacturing day event.
October 2, 2015 10:00am – 3:30pm
1695 N Penny Ln
Schaumburg, IL 60173
Visit the American Foundry Society and play in the sand with metalcasting. Learn how castings are made, applications and uses in everyday life, and the endless career opportunities possible. Participants will make their very own casting to take home, as long as supplies last.
Attention: Safety gear will be provided. No open toe shoes can be worn. Students under 18 years old must be accompanied by parents or teachers. Groups of more than five persons must register in advance.
This event has been designed with home schoolers in mind, since it provides a good science lesson for the kids and a field trip all in one! Each adult and child will be able to make a metal trinket in a sand mold and the older kids can even pour their own metal. Open to the public.
